Designed and built in the early 1880's by William Golding as a wedding
gift to his bride, Miss Rosa Emma Cable. Owned by the Hanna family from
1916-1996 and now the residence of the Solomon Islands consul.
A
large two storey brick late Victorian country mansion with a pyramidal
hipped galvanised iron roof. The house has verandas on both floors, an
oak staircase and a magnificent lead-light window imported from
Ireland. The house is
square in plan with an unusually raised clerestorey at the ridge
flanked by two large chimneys.
